I went to orientation with Anderson Trucking Service this past week the first day was great they even feed you dinner but here's the catch I was sent home because I expected to make to much money I talked to many of there drivers who seem to be happy very happy now I was supposed to do Midwest region which my recruiter told me that OTR Drivers and Midwest region drive made the same money which was $1200 weekly now I said to myself why would I run over the road when I can stay close to home so now I'm meet with this representative and she says I can't make nothing but $1000 to $1200 so I explained to her that the recruiter told me if I stay out I could make a little more she said this it's possible but I have a dedicated account for I refuse that account I'm lease a truck why would I dedicate myself to such freight in the second interview that just let me go saying my expectations was to high but all I seen was that they wanted to put me where they needed help I then told them I'll stay out 21 to 28 days OTR they refused to let me stay on . Holly is with driver service if you really want to work at this company just say yes to everything that's she tells you.

Sean Dwyer is a lying piece of *** even to me and his boss and his boss Joe Goering believes everything that comes out of their mouth now I refused to do dedicated but I want over the road and Sean just lied to me. What I'm saying is that stay away from Sean Dwyer he will lie to you its best to talk to him though emails so they can catch this *** in his lies also in there Van division they are going to try to place you where they need you not where you want to be

Wow. ATS sent you home because you expected too much?

Wow. Been with ATS for four years as a lease driver. You are the first and only driver that I have ever heard of that was sent home because ATS couldn't meet your expectations.

Ok, so you know a few names at ATS.

At least we know that you were paying attention.

Most drivers are sent home from orientation because, (1) they fail to pass a DOT Physical, (2) they fail to pass the road test portion of orientation, (3) they have issues with previous driving infractions and do not meet ATS' standards, (4) and in only 1 exception in the entire existence of the company, supposedly someone was sent home because ATS could not meet his/her expectations. Simply unbelievable.

Listen bro right now i live near Chicago and I work a local job making 1200 a week bring home. I'm home every night by 6 or 7.

And I'm off 2 days a week. I was an owner operator when times were good with Freight. I used to run step deck. A couple of years ago everything was good but when it went sour I quit and started running local that was a few months ago.

The reason I tell you this it's because I was making $1,500 a month truck payment $250 a week insurance and $250 a week trailer rental. That's a total of about $2,000 a month. Now you have two account in truck repair and it usually every month you change your oil also fuel which if you're running hard you should be paying about anywhere from a thousand to $1,500 a week and fuel. With the company I was with you took 88% home of your gross.

When times were good I grossed anywhere between 7000 and $9,000 a week my paycheck was anywhere between 4500 and $5,000 sometimes $6,000 a week after I made all my payments.so thats bring home Now those days are over the Freights is not paying that much anymore. Maybe one day it will come back but today it's not. I recommend you work local ***being over the road for 28 days and making between 1000 and $1,200. I don't know anyone who would take that risk of the lease purchase program with the responsibility of your truck and having to do repairs only making a thousand to $1,200 a week that's insane.

I spoke to the Sean guy as well. Today actually and he told me that they were grossing out 3500 of $4,500 a week that my bring home would be between 1000 and $1,200. I laughed at him and said do you expect me to make truck repairs for a thousand plus dollars making that kind of money. Because if they're going to offer you 2009-**** trucks with 500 plus thousand miles on them something is bound to break.

And me being over the road as an owner operator for two-and-a-half years I can tell you that some years you'll only spend between 5 and $10,000 on repairs sometimes less but some years you can spend $20,000. Tires, roadside assistance, you get the idea. Just a turbo going out can cost you 3 to $4,000 so maybe they will fix it but I'm sure they're going to deduct your check forever. I know this is a long rant.

But I suggest staying local find a decent job you can be home every day and if you really want to be over the road wait until after election year. To see if things will get better.

And if Freight is being charged better maybe a year down the road then get on with a company that will pay you a percentage of the load preferably you know they won't take more than 10 - 15%. And the company that runs paper logs because With electronic logs and the wait times are flatbed you'll never make any money.
